What To Expect

What To Expect From Floresta?

Here at Floresta Animal Hospital our goal is to provide thorough and compassionate veterinary medical care for your pet and to offer current information on the many important aspects of pet care, so that your pet has the opportunity to be as healthy as possible. We hope that not only the first time you visit us, but every time, it is truly a great experience.

Prior to your pets appointment, you may complete our client information form, which is located on our website under new patient center and bring it with you or you may complete your information form at the start of your visit. It is most helpful if you brought a copy of doctor written records on your pet from your previous veterinarian(s) so that we will know what medical treatment, diagnostics, and vaccinations your pet has received in the past.

A Floresta Team Member will proceed to ask a complete history at each visit. This history will include questions concerning eating and drinking habits, any unusual activities, heartworm prevention, flea control, shampoos, and even diets. For our regular clients this repeated history may seem tedious and frustrating, but it allows us to be sure we have an accurate picture of your pet’s home life.

We don’t want to assume that there have not been any changes since your pet’s last visit, so be sure to know all your pets latest habits and activities. We will also discuss different options of vaccine packages and wellness testing depending on the age and health of your pet. The team member and their assistant will begin some diagnostics, that may be done prior to the doctor’s examination. These tests may include drawing blood for a Feline Leukemia/Aids Test or a 3 Dx check, which is a test for Heartworm Disease, Ehrlichia and Lyme disease, or a fecal check that will test for intestinal parasites. Please feel free to voice any questions or concerns you may have, at the start of your visit, so that we may address them.

While awaiting results of these tests, the doctor will examine your pet throughly. She will then discusses your pet’s health and go over any recommendations she may have to ensure the highest quality of life and address any questions or concerns that you may have. If there are any necessary medications to go home they will be filled by a team member while you and your pet wait in the exam room. We will instruct you on how to properly dispense your pets medication(s) and provide an estimate for any future diagnostics or treatment we have advised.

The team member then will escort you back to the lobby for the receptionist to complete your transaction. This is the time when you can purchase heartworm prevention, shampoos or any other products that you may need. This is also the time when you may schedule any future appointments for diagnostics, wellness testing, rechecks, or boarding.

We hope that your visits with us are always up to the standards that you have hoped to find in a veterinary facility. If at any point you have any questions, concerns, or problems we would like for you to let us know. We feel as if we are here to serve you and your pet.
